Dr. Penny Carey is the Clinical Director at Next Generation Village and has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years. She earned her MA in Clinical Psychology and her PsyD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Child/Adolescent Psychology from the Colorado School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor for Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Counselors (LMFT) registered interns in the state of Florida and is dual licensed in the state of Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor and licensing supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates and Marriage and Family Therapist Candidates.
Penny has helped her clients in inpatient, outpatient and forensic settings, and specializes in trauma, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. She likes to use an eclectic approach to therapy, using a wide variety of treatment modalities, to meet the client where they are and empower them to be in control of their therapy. Penny endeavors to be a positive impact on everyone at NGV, helping them achieve their own personal greatness.
